Berry Yummy Banana Smoothie


Hi everyone! It’s such a beautiful day here in Kentucky and I hope everyone is having a great start to the weekend! I’ve been working out so hard in the gym but realized my workouts are going to waste if I don’t incorporate a healthier diet. I started making this berry banana smoothie every morning for breakfast and absolutely love it! It tastes so refreshing and packed with a magnitude of benefits (internally and externally) so let’s get right into it!


5 ripe strawberries

handful of black berries

handful of blue berries

half a banana

coconut water for texture

juice of half a lemon

2 dates

1 teaspoon honey for a hint of sweetness

couple of ice cubes

Blend everything together with some ice and you’re set to go! Instead of using coconut water, I like to change it up and use yogurt or orange juice but it’s whatever tickles your fancy 🙂


This smoothie is packed with 3 types of super berries. Berries are richly packed with antioxidants. Antioxidants are nutrients (vitamins and minerals) and enzymes (proteins inside your body) that can help prevent and repair damage to your body’s tissue. There are so many processes in the body which result in oxidation, so the intake of natural antioxidants is crucial to counteract these negative results. If you have seen a peeled apple turn brown, you have witnessed oxidation in action.  The major benefit of consuming antioxidants is that they prevent and even reverse some types of cancers and diseases. Taking in large amounts of antioxidants also help slow down the aging process. So strap on those tennis shoes, run to your closest farmers market and grab a bag full of antioxidant rich foods!

All berries-blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries


Green vegetables-spinach, kale, broccoli





Citrus fruits

Don’t feel restricted to stick to solely these fruits either. Experiment with your favorite fruit or even veggies and tell me what combinations you enjoy!
