Happy Friday everyone!
Oh my God, where in the world did May go?! Since June is practically around the corner, I decided to do a post on my favorite May products that I have been using religiously. So sit back, relax and enjoy reading!
1. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz
Okay, I’m guilty for being a beauty blogger and slacking on the most raved brow product on the market by Anastasia Beverly Hills. A couple of weeks ago I went to Sephora to get color matched and snag one of these master Brow Wiz Pencils. Before, I used to fill in my brows with a darker shadow and angled brush. I was a bit apprehensive about filling in my brows with a pencil because it comes off more harsh but this brow product works pretty darn well, ladies. I like for my brows to be big and bold, therefore I got a darker shade, Ebony, which is the second to last darkest shade in the line. This product gives you the ability to literally draw your brows in a clean, polished way according to the shape you want…I know, it sounds rather intimidating but once you get the hang of it, it’s easy as can be! Anastasia’s Brow Wiz line comes in 9 different shades to alter to your brow color and retails at Sephora for only $21. Next purchase of mine will be the brow pomade–stay posted for a product review!
2. Beauty Blender Best Friends Pack
These magical little sponges are the reason my makeup application goes on so flawless. Wetting them and squeezing out the excess water to apply liquid concealer, foundation, or bronzer throughout the face gives a beautiful finish without looking cakey. I love this product but the price is kind of a buzz kill. This Beauty Blender Best Friends pack retails at Sephora for $39.95. I know what you are thinking- It’s almost kind of ridiculous to spend that much money on 2 sponges but I assure you if you sign up for Sephora e-mails, you’ll get the inside scoop on sales and discounts online and in the store. Next time you get an e-mail, go buy one–which retails for $19.95, (or two) of these magic applicators.
3. Individual False Lashes
What can I say, I’m a huge fan of false lashes. I honestly believe they can pull any look together-whether the “no-makeup” makeup look or the smokey eye look, false lashes will make your eyes pop. I know false lashes are nothing close to natural but you know me, I prefer over the top glam any day. I’m obsessed with strip lashes and always have been but recently I’ve been playing around with Ardell individual lashes from the drugstore. These bad boys are miserly time consuming but the first time I applied them correctly, I fell in love. Individual lashes stay on your lash line for a couple of days as opposed to strip lashes which is really nice! You can double up for a fuller look (which I haven’t mastered just yet) or simply add a couple to the top and bottom lash line for a little more flare. You can pretty much buy these at any drug store but I bought mine from Ulta which retails between $2.99-4.99. Definitely can’t beat that price.
4. Mario Badescu Facial Spray
This Mario Badescue facial spray was an impulse buy. Did I need it? No. Do I love it? Yes. This hydrating facial spray works wonders for my combo skin. After cleansing, toning and moisturizing my face I like to spray a couple of squirts for a fresh, clean feel morning and evening. I also like to mix this in with my moisturizer. For all you MAC cosmetic lovers–this facial spray is comparable, if not better to MAC Fix+, You can also wet your makeup brushes for a more intense eye shadow application. Don’t be fooled by “facial spray” ya’ll–this all purpose product can be sprayed in your hair and all over the body for a quick “pick-me up”. Not to mention the cool, relaxing scent of rosewater. I can’t get enough of Mario Badescu’s line…if you haven’t tried out his products, ask for samples at Ulta and they will generously give you whatever you need!
5. MPL Concealer
This MAC Pro Longwear heavy duty concealer will forever be my favorite. Before deciding to venture out in the world of concealers, this was my “go to” product but in the end, I always find myself going back to this one. I am in the shade NW 25 at the moment. I prefer a lighter concealer application for my under eye area to brighten. I never wear concealer to spot cover around my face. It’s almost impossible to find the EXACT shade of concealer match to your foundation/skin which make blemishes stand out more in my opinion. My advice, add a little more foundation to those pimples or blemishes standing out instead of concealer. I use this as an eye primer before my shadow application as well. It’s simply amazing. This retails at the MAC store for $19.
I don’t think you all will ever meet anyone who loves candles as much as I do. As some of you know, I struggle with anxiety and stress. As odd as it sounds, candles relax me like no other. The ambiance it gives to a room (which DOES effect mood) diminishes my stress levels greatly. My all time favorite candles are the Aromatherapy ones from Bath and Body Works. Yes, I highly believe in aromatherapy-I promise it works! These candles are kind of on the pricey side but Bath and Body Works ALWAYS has amazing deals on candles if you check out their website!
7. Victoria Secret Body Butter
Now I know I am not the only one with 8 of these stalked in the bathroom from the Victoria’s Secret Semi-annual Sale. Every year I find that my tubs of body butter multiply but I’m definitely not complaining. Summer is here and the most important thing to do to our skin is to keep it supple and healthy. Body butters are typically very thick and greasy but not these ones from VS. These fluffy, soufflé-like body butters almost act like a hydrating, cream perfume which is why I’m obsessed. They all smell DIVINE! My favorite is Love Spell which I could literally bathe in. Stalk up and stay hydrated ladies!
8. Dickinson’s Pore Perfecting Toner
Dickinson’s pore perfecting toner is a newbie to my skincare routine and collection. I’ve tried all types of toners: from Clinique, Estee Lauder to Neutrogena but every single one I have tried has harshly stripped my face leaving it dehydrated and flakey. I’ve heard how gentle this toner is so I decided to give it a try-my skin quenches for this toner now. It’s so gentle yet effective and on top of that oil free! My skin doesn’t burn after using this like most toners with alcohol did. Almost all of the ingredients in this toner are natural which is always a win in my book!
Well there you have it, my May Favorites for this month! I hope you enjoyed learning about the products I am loving. I’ve been getting requests and ideas for posts and I can’t thank you all enough for reading and staying updated with me! Requested posts will be up soon 🙂
