Happy first official day of summer, y’all!
The weekend is finally here which means two things for me: cleaning and pampering. Surprisingly, I look forward to both. Anyways, a couple of weeks ago I went into Top Nails Salon in Hamburg (for all you Lexitonians out there) to get a basic manicure. You all know that I enjoy doing my nails at home but my nails were practically nonexistent and they needed a quick me up so I decided to treat my hands. As I was choosing a color the manicurist started telling me about SNS Nails.
Signature Nail System claims to be better than shellac, gel and acrylic manicures. As quoted by SNS Nails, “Our company provides a system, which is natural and healthy to your real nails. No odor, no liquid, no primer, no UV light, much thinner than other products, light weight, easy to do and more importantly, helps our clients’ nails grow out stronger and healthier by adding 5 different kind of Vitamins and Calcium”. (SNS Nails hasn’t hit every nail salon yet so if you’re looking to get them done, call the salon beforehand)!
I’m not a fan of acrylic nails but have always leaned towards Shellac and Gel nails. I veered away from shellac and gel after the outrage of the UV light having a small chance of causing cancer. I decided to give SNS nails a go and I absolutely LOVE them!
The procedure is pretty basic but kind of time consuming. They put a clear “glue” coat on top of your nail and immerse your nail bed in very fine powder, which is the color of the nail you want. This process is repeated 4-5 times then they nicely shape your nails ending with a topcoat for a long lasting, glossy shine. These red nails are my second set but my first set lasted over 5 weeks with no chipping, breakage or damage to my painted nails. Unfortunately, when taking them off, the damage to my natural nail bed wasn’t as bad as post acrylics but similar to shellac and gel. Regardless, I love that no UV light is used in the process and the lasting power of the nails.
And here’s my new set! I decided to go with some barbie pink claws!
How are you all spending your first official day of summer? Hope you liked this post and try out SNS nails!
