Ben Nye Banana Luxury Powder Review

Hi everyone!
TGIF! I hope everyone has a great start to the weekend. Thank you all so much for stopping by The Panwar Palace for a quick read! Kick back, relax & have your credit card handy. I’m going to do my best to sell you on this AMAZING product that won’t hurt your bank account! 😉
In my highlighting and contouring post, I mentioned how I was going to review two products. One of which is the Ben Nye Banana Luxury Powder. This powder is fairy dust to my entire face; seriously I am infatuated with it. I first heard about the manifestation of Ben Nye Banana Powder by celebrity makeup artists then eventually saw it make way in the beauty guru world. I’m not even going to lie, I’m not a fan of Kim Kardashian but the fact that her make-up artist uses this product most definitely sweetened the deal for me since her makeup is always flawless! Pictured below is a quick selfie snap I took of myself where I used the Banana Powder to set and highlight. You can see my highlighted areas (minus the brow bone, inner tear duct & nose). I used Banana Powder to highlight above my brows, under eyes, above my upper lip, chin and below the jaw line.

Let’s get right into the review:

Used for: highlighting, reducing shine, concealing, brightening, oil control, setting foundation & concealer.

I LOVE using this product for setting my under eye concealer-you can pretty much say bye-bye to under eye creasing with a light application of this powder. Because Banana Powder is micro-milled for a silky texture, the little particles sink into your creases and/or wrinkles soaking up any liquid or cream product which results in a matte, non-creased under-eye. I use a tiny powder brush and pack on however much coverage I need and within seconds, my under eyes are flawless!

For my skin color, banana is the perfect highlighting shade. I like to set my highlight with this powder because it leaves a subtle yet noticeable highlight. It may appear too yellow or light in the container but the fine powder  blends in flawlessly to my skin. Banana is a very versatile color and can match up with MANY skin types but the Luxury Powder line has three other shades including: Cameo, Buff and Beige Suede to accommodate to your skin color.

My bathroom has poor lighting, so you can imagine how I can easily go overboard with the blush and contour application (eeeek)! If I notice that I’m wearing too much of anything, I take a giant fluffy brush and blend in some banana powder, neutralizing the color without actually having to take off my makeup. How perfect, right?

A light application of this all over your face always works great to set your foundation. After all, it is a translucent powder! It doesn’t appear cakey at all and once again, blends in beautifully (especially for those of you who are oily).

I love this banana powder because you get what you pay for. I’ve seen different prices for different sizes but nothing over $30! A little most definitely goes a long way so more bang for your buck! Also, under light or in front of the camera, it illuminates on the skin gorgeously.

Honestly, there isn’t anything I don’t like about this powder besides the fact that you have to order online since we don’t have any Ben Nye makeup stores around the Kentucky area. This product was in high demand when I ordered mine in January so I had to buy mine off of Amazon. The packaging could be a little more aesthetically appealing but the product is AMAZING so who really cares, right?
