Loverly Collaboration: Indian Bridal Makeup on a Budget

Hi ladies, I’m so excited to be writing this post because I’m collaborating with a company called, an online wedding planning binder that helps you create everything you need to know for your wedding! It’s a neat site that helps take the stress away while planning for your special day. Everything from the room ambiance to the color theme of your wedding is included on this site… it somewhat reminds me of a “Wedding Planner Pinterest” to say the least. saw some of my Instagram pictures as well as blog posts and approached me asking if I would  be interested in creating a bridal makeup look. This sounded so fun since I typically don’t get to play with Indian bridal looks on day to day basis (or should I say never)! Indian bridal makeup is far from subtle- dark lips, smokey eyes, bold contour and chunky jewelry is the way to go! I love the traditional Indian wedding colors of gold and red so I tried to incorporate that in my mind as I was creating this look. Most of my inspiration came from the blouse and sari I was wearing. I chose deep ruby red lips to match my sari and gold lids to tie in the delicate color of gold hues in my blouse. has over thousands of wedding dresses to choose from which makes the process of choosing  makeup look that much easier! Be sure to browse their site if you are on the lookout for wedding dresses and ideas for your special day!

Weddings can get super pricey so I wanted to challenge myself in recreating an affordable look that everyone can do. Yes, quality over quantity is definitely something I live by but sometimes,  drugstore makeup doesn’t get the credit it deserves. Everything from the primer, mascara and eye-liner are all drugstore. The key to making your makeup last on your wedding day AND look good for flash photography is layering and no SPF.

Products I used are listed below!
